Well, with the help of my Dad and Marybeth’s Dad (and chainsaw) and brother we got the willow tree cleaned up on Saturday. Thanks guys!
Then, on Monday I got to run a different kind of race. I did not go to win or set a PR. I went to do something much more important…support my wife. Marybeth ran her first 5K with her sister, brother in-law and me.
She has supported me in hundreds of races and always encourages me to keep ski racing. She is so busy keeping our household running, working, taking care of the kids, and supporting me that her training often falls to the bottom of the “to do” list. However, this past spring she decided she wanted to take up running again and get in shape. She is doing a great job and is signing up for another race this fall.
In last nights winds part of our willow tree came down. Working out with Gregg this morning then “homeowner” training this afternoon.
This past weekend I participated in the City of Lakes Tri- Loppet. First you canoe with a partner, then run and finish with a mountain bike. For the second year in a row I partnered up with Evan Pengelly and let me tell you, we have some mad paddling skills! A big thanks to Dave and Josie Nelson for letting us use their sweet boat. Also, a big thanks to Sven for letting me use his mountain bike.It is always a great race and everyone should get out and go for it!

Then we headed up to Hayward to celebrate Muskie Days and the marriage of Santi and Carolyn. Congrats to the happy couple! We did not make it to the reception (weddings are difficult with small children) but the ceremony was very nice.
I hope everyone is getting lots of training in. Remember, this is when the foundation is set.
