watch the world cup
matt | February 4, 2010Below are some is an email my Dad sent out on how to watch the races tomorrow. Hope it works for everyone.
***************
I finally discovered a web site that says it will have live coverage
(streaming video) of Matt’s World Cup race tomorrow.
http://www.cbc.ca/video/#/Sports/Amateur_Sports
The womens’ race coverage goes from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm central time. The
mens’ race coverage goes from 1:00 pm to 2:30 pm central.
For the streaming video at this web site, you may want to try to locate a
friend with fast internet connection speed, if yours is not too fast. You may
also want to try connecting and watching the women’s race first to see if it
works, so that you know in advance if it will work to watch the men’s race.
Another alternative is to find someone with digital TV broadcasts via cable or
satellite feed, that has the Canadian Broadcasting Company “Bold” channel (CBC
Bold) in their list of available channels. Perhaps DISH or DIRECT-TV
subscribers might have this channel available. This channel is supposed to
have live coverage of the race at the above times.
Hope you can find a way to watch it!!!
FYI, if you click now on the race “Live Streaming” links at the web site below,
you get a message saying this is not broadcast outside Canada. However, I’m
hoping that is just an error message due to the fact that there is nothing
being broadcast through those links at the moment. I went to the CBC news
associated with this web site earlier, when there was a scheduled live
streaming newscast. I also listened to some CBC radio stations on-line. The
news and the radio came through OK on my home PC, so hopefully the race links
work tomorrow.
