Good start to the season
matt | November 27, 20095th place today against a very strong field… Kuz 2nd, me 5th and Gregg 5th. Best start I’ve ever had at West. Looking forward to racing at a little lower elevation as the season progresses.
This is a Thanksgiving pic of the kids… they are getting so big! I am excited to see them in a few days but tomorrow I have another race… 10k classic! I am hopeful all the classic drills I did with my coaches this summer and fall will pay off tomorrow.
West Yellowstone
matt | November 24, 2009It has been a little while since I update the old blog but that is because I am having such a busy time in West. Marybeth, Grant and Ben (Marybeth’s brother) flew out to Bozeman to spend a few days with me in West Yellowstone. It was so much fun having them here and Grant loved skiing and all the snow. While he was out here Grant got his first bad cut. He was going to need stitches but we glued him up instead.
Tomorrow is the first race of the season, a 1.4k classic sprint qualifier. Not exactly my cup of tea but I am excited to give 100%. Friday is the 15k skate race and I am really fired up for a longer skate effort.
Osseo High School!
matt | November 15, 2009This week I did some technique clinics with the Osseo High School Nordic ski team. Osseo is my alma mater and it was great to see all my high school coaches and a strong program with lots of enthusiastic athletes.
I only got a picture with the guy’s team because I forgot my camera during the girl’s clinic. The guys and I did some hard L4 intervals together after the clinic which was a blast. Moving fast and breathing hard… my favorite type of training!
Osseo Nordic, Good luck this season!
Tuesday I am getting on a plane to West Yellowstone for training and racing.
