Matt is in Alaska and does not have access to a computer or internet so he asked me to update his blog tonight…

Today was the first day it was warm enough for the skiiers to race. (Every night when I talk with Matt he tells me how cold and dark it is). The race was a 10K skate race!

Matt did so well; he got third!! Our friend Evan had called me earlier in the night with the results and I couldn’t wait to talk with Matt. Friends and family were calling me all night wondering if the good news was true. However, I did not get to talk with Matt until 3 hours after Evan called.  Matt was very exhausted and excited. He said he had a great starting spot, fast skies and could feel the importance of this race.

I am so proud of Matt and wish I could have been there to see it. If anyone got pictures please send them to Matt or I.

I also want to congratulate matt’s team member Caitlin who won the women’s race!

We also want to thank all our family and friends who have helped Matt make it this far…Matt and I were thinking of you all tonight!
