Hi All,

Thank you to all the great support from friends and family over the last week.  For those that don’t know I am racing the 30K World Cup pursuit race this weekend at the Olympic venue in Whistler, BC.  Training has been going well and today I finally got to see a little sun after it stopped raining and snowing.  Being in BC is so much warmer than Alaska… I hear it is pretty cold in the Midwest right now.  It is looking like temps for race day could be near 40F so I may be racing on my zero classic skis.

On the home front I hear Grant is cutting more teeth and getting bigger… I am excited to see how much he has changed when I get home.

I’ll try to post some photos later this week.  I guess the sun is suppose come out later in the week so I am excited to see some mountains.

I have not been able to talk with Matt a lot the last couple days. Apparently it costs a lot of money for him to call on his cell phone so he is trying to get a calling card.

Grant and I were missing Matt a lot this morning so I brought him to Elm Creek for a sled ride.  He had fun and I got a good work out pulling him through the snow. Every skier that went by was “da da,” to Grant. We also saw video of Matt on Faster skier and Kristina Owen’s website (http://kristinaowen.com). Grant loved it!!!!!! He has four teeth coming through so I think it will be a long week!

MATT MADE THE WORLD CUP TEAM!!

He got up this morning and is headed to Vancouver  with Caitlin Compton, Garrott Kuzzy and his coach Bryan Fish where they will prepare to race.

Caitlin, Garrott and Matt will race the weekend of January 17th under the colors of red, white and blue!

While another 10 days without Matt makes me sad, I am very excited for him and this opportunity ! Congrats to Matt and CXC team; all the people in the midwest I have talked with are proud of you all!

I talked with Matt last night and it is cold in Alaska. Their  races have been cancelled the last 2 days. I feel bad for Fish and Brandon who have to race wax the entire teams skis every night and then  the team doesn’t  get to race on them.

Ben K. sent a lot of cool pictures from Monday’s race; however, I can not figure out how to post them so Matt will have to when he gets home. Hopefully, the one of Matt on the podium will appear below…we will see.

Matt is coming home tomorrow! Grant and I are so Excited!!!!!!!
